Shame

If we were to end,

would you be ashamed to say

you had loved a woman?

Will you speak about us in hushed tones

Will I be euphemistically referred to as

‘a friend’,

Will you speak about us?

If they ask what you were before,

And you need to communicate

growth that came about

by being part of ‘two woman love’,

Will you hesitate?

Will they silence you again

Will you become silent?

But what if we

were not to end,

Would this be our daily truth?
