The #BQSJOZI was a great vibe, against the backdrop of a gorgeous Johburg sky line on the roof top at Kink Kong. There were talks about artistic contributions, self publishing, gender & identity and art being a great means of expression. From poets to fashionistas to creative visual artists panelists spoke about their creative process and how they got to where they were. There was even a rap performance.

Even though there was an awesome panel the real talking points were the people themselves as the attendees to the event were stunning (just check out the photos below) and we’re definitely out there to mingle (even though not everyone was single).

It was a great space where black Queers (through majority of whom were women) came together in a safe space where they could have a few drinks, a few laughs and meet some new people or catch up with old ones. With all the hate and violence flying around this was an incredible space where people could gather and be Black, Queer and Social.
