With Breast cancer being the most common cancer in the world its best to cup the cupcakes and squeeze your goodies and make sure they are OK.

Touching the Tatas: How to Check Your Boobs

Here is how to do it:

Step 1: Get naked and think DAMN I look good. Then look at your breasts in the mirror with your shoulders straight and your arms on your hips.

Other than a ‘good dose of sexy’ what you are looking for:

  • Breasts that are their usual size, shape, and color
  • Breasts that are evenly shaped without visible distortion or swelling

If anything is looking dicey try  get to a doctor. Do not ignore it. Dicey things include

  • Dimpling, puckering, or bulging of the skin
  • A nipple that has changed position or an inverted nipple (pushed inward instead of sticking out)
  • Redness, soreness, rash, or swelling

Step 2: Put your hands up like you in the club and your jam just started playing and look for the same changes.

Step 3: No one likes leaking so while you’re at the mirror, look for any signs of fluid coming out of one or both nipples (this could be a watery, milky, or yellow fluid or blood).

Step 4: Now is the fun bit.  Feel your breasts while lying down, using your right hand to feel your left breast and then your left hand to feel your right breast. Use a firm, smooth touch with the first few finger pads of your hand, keeping the fingers flat and together. Use a circular motion, about the size of a quarter.

Cover the entire breast from top to bottom, side to side — from your collarbone to the top of your abdomen, and from your armpit to your cleavage. Check it all. The whole thing needs love.

Step 5: Now if things didn’t get hot and heavy from feeling on your own sexy feel your breasts while you are standing or sitting. Many women find that the easiest way to feel their breasts is when their skin is wet and slippery. No do not wait till after sex just jump in the shower so they like to do this step in the shower. Cover your entire breast, using the same hand movements described in step 4.

Breast Cancer Risk Reduction

Sometimes prevention is the best cure so what can you do to reduce your risk of breast cancer?

I am glad you asked!

  1. Keep it right, keep it tight and stay physically active. Maintaining a healthy weight can help reduce the risk.
  2. Go for a jog, or a walk or a roll in the sheets with the lovely lady. Keep active and eat right
  3. Eat fruits and vegetables. No one is saying give up the good stuff but add more fruits and veg to the yummy to keep a little bit healthier. We will all slip and fall into some cake or chicken and chips but we should still try.
  4. Do not smoke. (plus its so much cheaper to not smoke, and it tastes better when you kiss someone.)
  5. Limit alcohol consumption. Yes no one likes this one but cutting down from six beers to two or maybe not drinking a whole bottle of wine on a Tuesday night could help.

Breast Cancer Myths

Myth: Finding a lump in your breast means you have breast cancer.

Truth: Lets cool the drama on this one. Only a small percentage of breast lumps turn out to be cancer.  But if you discover a persistent lump in your breast or notice any changes in breast tissue, it should never be ignored. It is very important that you see a physician for a clinical breast exam. They may get fancy on you and possibly order breast imaging studies to determine if this lump is the real deal or not.  But still ladies check and touch, best to catch these things early. Also get annual clinical breast exam, and schedule your routine screening mammograms.

Myth: Men do not get breast cancer; it is something that only affects the lovelier sex.

Truth: Some things are for everyone. Each year it is estimated that approximately 2,190 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer and 410 will die. While this percentage is still small, men should also check themselves periodically by doing a breast self-exam while in the shower and reporting any changes to their physicians.

Myth: A mammogram can cause breast cancer to spread.

Truth: A mammogram, or x-ray of the breast, currently is still the best way for the early detection of breast cancer. And breast compression whilst getting the mammogram done does not make cancer spread.

According to the National Cancer Institute, “The benefits of mammography, however, nearly always outweigh the potential harm from the radiation exposure. Mammograms require very small doses of radiation. The risk of harm from this radiation exposure is extremely low.”

Myth: If you have a family history of breast cancer, you are likely to develop breast cancer, too.

Truth: While women who have a family history of breast cancer are in a higher risk group, most women who have breast cancer have no family history. It’s actually about 10% of individuals diagnosed with breast cancer have a family history of this disease.  So please guys do not just think about those who came before you and base your decisions on that. Check up on it no matter what.

Myth: Breast cancer is contagious.

Truth: No. Just stop. That’s…that’s not cool. Just stop. It really isn’t.

So now you are clued up about breast Cancer. Make sure it is not just this month that you are aware. Its for the best to always be aware and know what your body is about. Keep it right, keep it tight, keep it healthy.

HOLAA! loves you and your boobs. Keep them healthy.

[…] My B cups stand proud, and my nipples firm from the adrenaline that pumped through me at the start to my set. When the stage lights start flashing, I put my mic down, and pull at the strings on my waist and off comes the thong. There are very few things in this life that make me feel the way I do when I stand on that sage, hearing my audience and colleagues enjoy what I am doing and screaming for me. I blow them away every time, to the extent that I get the most popular and coveted slots in the week to do my show. It is so special for me to be celebrated in the strip club, by my colleagues, managers and customers, for something else other than what I am there for, something a little more important to me. […]
